Good Morning!
Psalm 100 English
Standard Version (ESV)
His Steadfast Love Endures
Forever
A Psalm for giving thanks.
100 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3 Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we
are his;[a]
we are his people, and the
sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his
name!
5 For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all
generations.
Footnotes:
Come, ye thankful people, come,
raise the song of harvest home;
all is safely gathered in,
ere the winter storms begin.
God our Maker doth provide
for our wants to be supplied;
come to God's own temple, come,
raise the song of harvest home.
I was thinking about the many blessings I need
to be thankful for as I was driving home yesterday. Let me list a few today …
·
I am thankful for the Triune God present
in my life; willing to guide me and protect me all of my days. Thank You, dear
Father, for Jesus who loves me just as I am and for the Holy Spirit that dwells
within.
·
I am thankful for the wonderful woman
God gave me as a friend and a partner for more than fifty years. She completed
me. And, while I miss her, I am also
thankful that she is Home with our Lord and no longer suffering pain. Thank You, dear Father, for my beloved Miss
Norma.
·
I am thankful for my five children …
even those who are distant from me. God blessed Norma and me with each one …
and I love them. Thank You, dear Father God, for Jim, Heather, Michael, Bryan,
and David … and for their spouses.
·
I am thankful for my fifteen grandchildren
and my four great-grandchildren. Thank You, dear Father God, for each one …
what joy they bring to me.
·
I am thankful for my Mom whom God has
allowed to stay with us. Thank You, dear Father God, for her love for all of my
days.
·
I am thankful for my brother and my
sister, Bruce and Claire. Thank You,
dear Father, for the many days we have had together.
·
I am thankful for my brothers and sisters
in Christ Jesus … members of the Church Universal … joined together through the
precious blood of Christ Jesus, our Savior and our Lord. Thank You, dear Father
God, for each one.
This is just a short list … I could go on for
a long time. But I want you to note that
my thankfulness is not about things … all of which God has blessed me with
throughout the year. My list is about
people. While things give me temporary
pleasure, my real joy comes with the relationships that last forever. That said, let me be more specific in my
final point above …
·
I am thankful for each one of you …
readers of these daily words of encouragement; brothers and sisters brought
together by our love of the Lord and our desire to serve Him daily. Thank You, dear Father God, for my good
friends who join with me each day. Give us
a good day today as we celebrate Your many blessings together. In Jesus’ Name …
Amen.
