Daily Thoughts To Think About

Finally, brothers, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellance, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. - Philippians 4:8

Thank You, Jesus

Good Morning!

Hebrews 1:1-4 English Standard Version (ESV)
Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

This morning I want to give thanks to God for Jesus, my Savior and my Lord.

The letter begins with the statement that God has always been active in the lives of the people of the Hebrew nation. God was always speaking to the people, attempting to gather His people to Himself.  He has never stopped.  He still speaks to His people today.  But at the proper time, God shed His mantle of glory to become flesh and dwell among us.  He faced the same physical issues we face … the need for food; the need for clothing; the need for a place to lay His head at night.  If He stubbed His toe, He hurt.  At the end of each day, He was weary.  He was flesh … and yet, He was also God.  He could discern a person’s need … and address it successfully.  He knew the hearts of those who opposed Him.  He could heal a person from miles and miles away.  He could raise a person from the dead.
Jesus was both God and man.

One day … now many years ago … Jesus spoke to my life.  He revealed my need to repent … turn away from my disobedience … and seek God with all my heart.  He revealed that He had paid the full price for my sin.  He revealed to me that I could become a child of God by trusting in His completed work on Calvary.  When I took Him at His word, He changed my life focus.  How could I be anything but thankful?

Tomorrow, as we gather together to give thanks, let us all remember that God’s greatest blessing to all the world is His only begotten Son … our Lord, Christ Jesus.

God bless you all this good, good day.  If you are traveling, I pray that God will go with you and before you, protecting you along the way.  And, if you are staying at home, I pray God will give you much joy throughout the day.
