The Old One Hundreth
Good Morning!
Psalm 100 (English Standard Version)
His Steadfast Love Endures Forever
A Psalm for giving thanks.
1 Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
3Know that the LORD, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;[a]
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
5 For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
Footnotes:
a. Psalm 100:3 Or and not we ourselves
Psalm 100 was one of the Bible Study passages for yesterday … I hope you got a chance to read through it.
What a beautiful song for us to “sing” to God. When I think about making a joyful noise, I am reminded that not all noise is beautiful, on key, timed perfectly. No, a joyful noise can be off key and ill timed. God’s ears hears beautiful music – even when our ears miss the tune.
So make some “music” this weekend – thank God for His wonderful steadfast love and His faithfulness to you and your loved ones. I am sure God is waiting to hear you.
